Dr Girdhar J. Gyani is the Director General, Association of Healthcare Providers (India). AHPI is a registered not for profit NGO.
The Mission of AHPI, as articulated by Dr Gyani, is to leap-frog Patient Safety and Affordability, in the Indian Healthcare System. He has focused on this mission for the past decade.
Currently, AHPI represents a vast majority of Healthcare Providers in India, through a network of state level chapters. Seeding a national movement.
Each chapter works closely with key stakeholders; namely, the Government, Member Hospitals, and the Community at large, to realize the AHPI Vision - Universal Health Coverage.
Dr Gyani – a tireless crusader for Quality in Healthcare. In India.
A decade earlier, Dr Gyani was Secretary General, Quality Council of India. During this tenure, Dr Gyani played a pivotal role in formulating and establishing the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). This was a breakthrough.
The NABH accreditation has helped leading Hospitals in the country to earn international recognition for Healthcare and Patient Safety. In turn, this has served to catalyze medical tourism in India.
Dr Gyani is widely recognized as the Pioneer of Healthcare Quality in India.
